You're 22 months old today...just two super short months from being TWO. Somehow, turning two may be harder on Mama than your turning one. You are perfect. I love every single thing about you. Of all the milestones you've reached, we're in this place I love so much that I could leave you little for so much longer. You're everything I prayed you would be: cute, smart, funny...you learn something and seem to remember it forever. You know our routine and you now tell ME where we're going and what we're doing. You help me all the time and have become so independent that you often want to let "Parker do it". I've never babied you and I have always let you be YOU, but WOW you are so much of ME that I just don't know what to do. Must be the "first child" in you. We've definitely hit some bumps when it comes to behavior. I persistently pray for more patience and that I am consistent, above all things, when disciplining you. You do get a few more spankings than before, and I try to make you sit in "time out" while we have a talk about what it is that you've done wrong. You are BRIGHT, my son and I know that you know what you're doing: you are testing Mama. I love you so much that I have to teach you what's right...no matter how much it pains us both. If two is terrible, then I will love you terribly right through it.
Eating - Right now, you're doing really well. We yo-yo between being super picky and battling to get you to eat good things and having the appetite of a horse. I am changing our lifestyle up a bit as it pertains to our diet. We're eating less snacks from boxes and bags and having more fruits and veggies. Your faves are peanut butter "poons", grapes, cutie oranges, bananas, "no-nurt", coffee, muffins (which I've started making with sweet potatoes instead of sugar), baked peas, green beans, chicken nuggets, juice, pizza, pizza bites and sometimes a grilled cheese. We will continue to introduce more veggies to you and hope that you learn to love them...Mama struggles with this too!
Sleeping - Right now, you're sleeping so much! Your naps at home are 3-4 hours lately. Must be a growth spurt! I won't complain as I love having the extra time to myself while you're resting. So thankful that you're such a sweet sleeper.
Measurements -At your last appointment, when we checked on your ear infection, you weighed 28.5 pounds. I would say you're about 29 now. Your cheeks and tummy are filling out again. You've have a big jump in height as you almost hit the island/bar when you walk by and your jeans are getting too short. Time for warmer clothes! You wear a 24 mos or 2T in all your clothes.
Things You Do
- say "tum ere" as you pat your leg and call the dogs
- open the doors to go "outide"
- let the dogs in/out to potty if the door is unlocked and you can get it turned just right
- ask for coffee FIRST thing in the morning
- sit on the counter so big while I'm in the kitchen
- tell me "poo poo" BEFORE you actually poop in your diaper
- string words together to form longer phrases/mini sentences
- call daddy to say "good day"
- play chase with Harley around the island
- sing "mr mr toes"...this is absolutely my favorite thing in the world and I never want to forget the sound of your baby voice singing this little song we made up

- sit on the couch and watch "George" as you eat breakfast
- ask for night night and paci when you are sad or are in trouble
- talk to mommy the entire way to school about friends, tv, animals, chapel and gym
- when i ask "who's Mommy's man?" you answer "parhkrah"
- you were sick at Christmas with a 104+ fever
- diagnosed with a double ear infection - no wonder!
- trained with mama for her half marathon, putting in as many as 6 miles at a time.
- spent new year's day at SeaWorld and got to meet a sea lion and walrus behind the scenes
- rode the tractor with Chief
- cheered mama on as she ran in her first ever half marathon
- stepped up and down the big step at Chief's garage without holding onto anything
Words You Say
This has had to become just a few of my current favorites since you know hundreds and hundreds of words. I love that bamboo is "boobam". You say "git up", "sit down", "need you"...what a bossy boy! You do have some sweet manners and say "bess you", "pees", "thank you" and "welcome".
You Like
- the zoo, SeaWorld, ALL animals
- trucks, tractors, planes and trains
- RUNNING to the door to catch the "gabage truck" when we hear it in time
- reading
- puzzles
- your dogs!
- going to "Rylee house" to play with the girls
- that you parrot my every single word by saying it back to me
- that you love your friends and teachers at school
- that you ask me to say prayers at dinner, sit and sing songs at bed time
- that you love your Daddy so incredibly and ask "Daddy home!?" every time you hear a car outside
