How is it possible that I've had you in my life for two whole years? Some days, two seems like the blink of an eye and others as though it's been an eternity. Regardless of what kind of day we're having, I love you more with every second that passes. You've become so super funny and I don't know why but I'm often shocked by the things you say and do. You're so SMART. Goodness, you hear something once and it's stuck in your precious brain forever. You do not forget anything. Most of our day is spent with you telling me where things are, what they're called and what you're going to do with them. I think you're quite the bossy pants. You are definitely the "first born": determined, strong willed, opinionated...wanting everything the way you want it when you want it. Some days I just have to shrug my shoulders and let you do your thing. You're LOUD. Everything about you is noisy. I laugh at this because I don't love noise and God gave me you...how He must laugh too. You have your tender moments when you ask me to hold you, but you're growing more independent and I do have mixed feelings about it. At times I want you to play alone and entertain yourself and the next thing I know I want to scoop you up and hold you like a little baby boy I once knew. Just yesterday (04.28.13) you ran into the house from the back porch and hollered "MAMA!". You found me in the office and smiled at me and said "hi". I thought that was it. I asked you for a kiss and you turned around and delivered one right on my lips. Again, I thought you'd run back outside to play but you ran at me fast and said "high five, huggies!" and slapped my hand before throwing your arms around my neck. These are the moments I want to remember forever.
Eating - I think we eat the same things over and over. You're pretty opinionated about food and if you don't want it, you refuse. I'm letting you refuse at times, knowing that if you're truly hungry you will eat what I've set out for you. Other days I grab a "juicey" (puree pouch) and offer it so that you're getting some fruits and veggies down. We're still working on eating healthier -- all of us. You do love Shakeology and ask for your own every single morning.
Sleeping - You're the best sleeper Mama could ask for. Hope all my babies love to sleep as well as you do.
Measurements -At your last appointment, you weighed 29.5 pounds. I can't believe I carry this weight around all the time. You were about 34.5 inches tall in March. We go in for an ear check and 2 year well check on May 7th. You wear 2T in all your clothes and are about to move to a 3T in pjs.
