Baby Shalley. Week 13.

Pregnancy Highlights for the Week: Going to the doctor last week to see/hear the baby's heartbeat! Again. I was even more in need of reassurance after the tragedy we'd suffered at school. What a sweet sound! I'll never forget this day or the fact that my sweet baby made me feel so much better.

How Far Along: 12weeks 4 days

Fruit/Veggie: Peach

For Men: the  size of the gas cap on your car

Size: 2.5-3 inch, still doesn't even weigh an ounce

Movement: None that I can feel, but baby is able to flex his new and developing muscles and joints and even make facial expressions.

Baby Changes: ears are now developed enough that he may be able to hear,  prenatal hiccups are strengthening your baby's diaphragm, organ systems for making hormones, absorbing nutrients, and filtering waste are also in place this week; the pancreas, gall bladder, and thyroid have developed, the kidneys can make urine, and his bone marrow is making white blood cells to help fight infection after he's born.

Best Moment this week: I have felt super since week 11...going on 3 weeks of energy! I'm making dinner and working around the house way more than earlier in the pregnancy.

Gender: Waiting for December to get here!

Name: Still waiting on the perfect names to come to us.

Food/Drink Craving: Drinking lots of water. Grilled cheeses are always yummy, but nothing really.

Sleep: I'm sleeping much better. I've had a few weird dreams and I usually wake up to potty 1-2 times a night.

Maternity Clothes: Haven't purchased anything new. Tshirts are getting a little tighter.

Weight Gained Since Last Appt: 1 pound.

What I am looking forward to: Feeling the baby move, finding out the sex, doing some shopping, getting the room ready to put together.

Symptoms: I feel really good right now.
