Week 27 | June 29th - July 5th.

Sunday - 29th: Oh, my goodness. What a road trip! Baba, Maegan, Parker, Pierce and I all set out for NOLA early this morning. We didn't get in a hurry and stopped every time any of us felt the need to. It was a really long day but I'm so proud of both my boys for how well they did in the car! It was so fun to get to the hotel after a long day of travel and finally see Cookie, Hannah, Bekah and Shannion. They were all ready to walk with us to dinner. Sweet Pierce man didn't make it long before crashing in his stroller on the streets of New Orleans. We sat down for just a few minutes at the dinner table and I realized that Acme Oyster House just wasn't for us -- no kid food. So Rebekah and I took the boys to Popeye's and grabbed a few snacks at a CVS before taking baths and getting some sleep. It was a very long day on the road and we cannot wait to see the ocean.

Loaded down -- we're off!

Stop #1: Coffee in Cypress.

Stop #2: Charging Hannah's car. The lights were left on yesterday -- not okay.

Stop #3: Baba pumps gas for us.

Stop #4: Little boy bathroom break.

Stop #5: Child chosen lunch -- whatever makes this road dog happy!

Stop #6: Bathroom break for all. 1 hr to go!

Stop #7: Emergency bathroom stop for the big boy.

Stop #8: FINALLY made it to the hotel!

Parker loved playing on the phones in the adjoining rooms. We had a view of the river - so fun to watch the barges.

Completely worn out. Hot, tired and so ready for bedtime.

Monday - 30th: This morning we weren't in any hurry. We woke up, got dressed, played with our sweet baby, packed and walked to breakfast at Peteunia's. Before leaving town, we also visited a fun children's store and shopped at Lush. Then we were ocean bound. Because we were so much closer to Florida today, we didn't stop nearly as many times as we did yesterday. Our toes hit the sand as soon as possible. I can't believe my baby is at the beach...I feel like I just experienced this with my Parker! I hope we have a great time. I'm looking forward to a few days of relaxation.

Toes in the sand. Parker is so excited. He has also come to love this place. I'm so proud of how well he's done in the car the past two days.


This has been Pierce's first long road trip, out of state trip, stay in a hotel, and look at the ocean. So happy to have him here with us this year. We all love making memories with our precious baby man.

Wednesday - 2nd:We always try and have a movie date in Destin.


Thursday - 3rd: This year we left the condo for 4th of July festivities over at Destin Commons. It was fantastic! We will do this again!







Friday - 4th: Oh my! The beach was incredibly festive today. It was so fun to see everyone's red, white & blue suits + flags. We loved celebrating on the beach instead of on the road.










Saturday - 5th: Of course the week has flown by and it's time to go home. None of us love leaving our favorite place. Here are all the stops we made today --

Stop #1 - gas and lunch for all

Stop #2 - coffee and a snack for the grownups

Stop #3 - a screaming baby passenger needed his mama

Stop #4? - My sweet baby is not used to not being able to nurse freely at night time. It's late and we need to get home!


Stop #5 & 6 - We pulled over to let Baba jump in with Mom at 10:30 and we picked up Bekah so we could head on to Navasota as soon as possible. The last 2 hours of the drive were very very hard on me...I wanted to fall asleep! The boys slept until we pulled into the driveway at Moms. We all showered and went to bed around 2am. Yikes!
