Sweet Avenleigh,
I learned your Mommy was pregnant with you the day of our going away party last summer. I was so excited to know you would be a part of our lives. I can't tell you how sad it made me not to get to see your Mommy's belly grow each week. I missed placing my hand on her tummy and feeling you kick or hiccup. I wasn't even able to come to your little baby shower. Living a few hours away has meant that I have missed a lot of things. However, nothing would stop me from getting to the hospital in time for your birth. I wanted to be there the moment you entered the world and met your precious family. I wanted to capture your first few hours...what a gift it is to have been a part of those memories. My favorite moment from your birth day is when I saw you in your Mommy's arms for the first time and right behind me, your Daddy and big sister Lily entered the room. Your Mom's eyes filled with tears as soon as she had both her girls with her. What sweetness. You are loved, my girl. So loved. And though I don't see you as often as I'd like, you're still one of my favorite little girls in the world and I can't wait to watch you grow up.
Liz and Jim, thank you again for allowing me to photograph your beautiful life. I love you guys.
