Sweet boy is a good sleeper, so far! I pray that he continues to be able to sleep just about anywhere.

To pass the time, and because he's so stinkin' adorable....I pick up the camera and concentrate on these cheeks!
LOVE these baby blues.
I love looking at my sweet boy all day long!
Today was a little better on our own. Bebe still isn't doing well. Sadly, when she passes, I won't be able to travel to her funeral. This makes me emotional, but I know that staying home and being a mama to my little boy is more important than anything else. On another note, Eli is 18 today! Happy birthday, cousin. We love you and are so proud of you.

Bebe
I spent most of today bawling my eyes out. I woke up early only to find out that my great grandmother, Bebe, had a severe stroke early this morning and isn't supposed to live much long. Bebe is Baba's mother so naturally Baba had to quickly leave and be on her way to East Texas. For the past week, I've felt like I had things under control - like I didn't really need much help around here. Parker has been a such a good boy. The moment Daniel and Baba both walked out the front door, I fell apart. Hormones. Alone. New baby. New mama. Ahhhh, a recipe for disastrous emotions. I felt like Park knew it was just us the moment we were finally JUST US. This was the first time we'd been alone since he'd been born. All I wanted was to make it through the day until Daniel came home.
My sister, Mom , Baba, Bebe and me last Easter.
Our prayer is that Bebe goes to be with the Lord as quickly as possible. She's lived over 90 years and hasn't slowed down for one moment!

Snuggle Time
I woke up to this:
...and I'm pretty sure it was hard for Daddy Daniel to get out of bed and go to work today. Parker loves to snuggle close with us! I just love this picture of my boys!
Later in the day, Parker snuggled with his Baba (great Grandmother).
There really aren't words to appropriately describe Baba. To the five of us Wilson/Conner grandchildren, she is a friend and a hero of sorts. There is nothing in the world that she will not do for us. I'm her first born grandchild and I can't tell you how special that makes our bond. We can all share anything with her. She's COOL, on the go and not really so grand-motherly. She's BABA. And Baba loves babies...she'll hold them and rock them all day. Lucky Parker. I'm so thankful that Baba's schedule has allowed her to spend a few days at a time with me. She's making sure I'm eating and drinking so that I produce enough milk, doing loads of laundry and rocking my Parker man so that I can get a break. I know Parker will treasure this photo for so long!

Look What The Easter Bunny Brought Mama
Yesterday was busy, the house was full, and Parker didn't leave the arms of his grandparents. I wanted to take a few pictures of my little Easter bunny so we put the onesie back on and pretended that today was Easter. Again. My Parker is super sweet and cute. I am so proud to call him mine.
The cheeks KILL me!
Parker's Baba got him this Easter chick.
Nothing is sweeter than a sleeping boy.

First Easter
Today is Parker man's first holiday. We aren't leaving the house today, but our hearts are filled with love and joy on the day that the Lord arose! There's much life to celebrate in this house. First, Parker got to meet his great Granddaddy Sam today. Sam thinks Parker is a "good looking" boy. He's designed a brand for Parker and intends to give him his first heifer. Parker's in the cattle business at just a few days old! Daniel's mom, sister and brother in law were already in town so my family joined us at our house for an Easter lunch of brisket, baked potato salad, green beans, rolls and way too much dessert. We had a wonderful time sitting and talking and staring at our precious boy. There were LOTS of porch pictures this Easter.
Getting checked out by his great granddad.

First Weekend at Home
This morning, Daniel got up to run a few errands before we had a house full of visitors for the weekend. I snuggled with my sweet boy and enjoyed just a few minutes alone. Later that afternoon, Sarabeth and Justin drove in from Ft. Worth to meet Parker, and Barbara also came in for Easter. We hung out at home and had dinner together. It was so relaxing just to sit around the house and stare at our precious baby.
When Daddy's spot in bed opened up in bed, Harley jumped up to check Parker out.
Precious sleeper.
Love those baby lips!

Jaundice
After almost no sleep, Daniel and I somehow managed to scrape ourselves together for Parker's first pediatrician's appointment. His bilirubin count had been high at the hospital and the doctors there wanted us to have another count done today. In order to get out the door on time, I threw on a tshirt and glasses and didn't put on any makeup. Ha! I never leave home without looking presentable and after one night at home with my Parker, I don't even know if I brushed my teeth! Though we didn't see the pediatrician we'd planned on, we absolutely fell in love with Dr. Yu. She's so personable and best of all, the practice is a Christian group. I feel completely at home there and trust her entirely with the care of my son. Poor Parker boy was weighed, measured, pricked and probed. He weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces, just a little smaller than yesterday. On the way home, Daniel stopped at Target so that I could quickly grab a few things we needed. It felt great to run around Target like a crazy woman, even if just for 15 minutes. We had quite the first night at home, but now that the sun was up, I was feeling much better. Parker fell asleep in his car seat so we put him in his pack n' play in some sun light to try and help get rid of some of the yellow. Because Honey wasn't feeling well and I wasn't in a position to clean up after a sick dog and take care of a newborn, I enlisted help from Mom. Honey was being shipped back to Navasota for the week. Once Mom got to my house, we loved on Parker, picked up the house in preparation for more visitors the following day and gave Parker his first bath. He HATED it and cried the entire time! Once he was lotioned and wearing some footed jammies, he fell asleep so sweetly in his crib.

Coming Home
After three nights in the hospital, we were MORE than ready to break out of the there and get home as soon as possible. Our hospital room had been flooded with visitors for two straight days and we wanted nothing more than to get away from the nurses and noise and be alone with Parker boy and the puppies in our own house. It took FOREVER to get discharged and get on the road. We made a few stops, but were in Navasota before we knew it. Daniel and I were super excited to see the girls. Finally, we all five made it home and got the car unpacked. I laid down with Parker while Daniel went to fill my prescription and pick up a few groceries. Everything felt normal for a few hours...then the puking started. Honey girl does not adjust to newness well. I knew this, but I couldn't quite expect the night that we'd have. She threw up on the closet floor, on the bed, in the bed and on Daniel's pillow. We decided to kennel her in order to contain the mess, but I was really nervous that she wasn't okay. Even though I swore that I wouldn't put my baby in my bed, Parker ended up in bed with us so that he'd sleep soundly. I ended up crying most of the first night. The schedule we'd had in the hospital was out the window and the sweet, quiet baby I'd met in College Station was much fussier at home with his mama and daddy. We spent an exhausting night trying to figure out nursing before we had to get up early the next day for a pediatrician's appointment. Ahhhh, home sweet home.
Falling asleep after nursing.
