Regular Roadtrip

Honey often travels back and forth with me to Navasota. She loves the country and the opportunity to chase birds and squirrels in the backyard. Here we are on our way back to Cypress. She's such a good lap dog.

This girl is curious! No matter how tired she is, she just can't stand not looking out the window.

Honey's all time favorite thing...driving! She does this several times in the 45 minute trek home. She hates it when I ask her to sit down.

The day after we got home from the beach, my Mama turned the big 5-0. Woah...she doesn't look it. 50 seems young to me, and I'm crossing my fingers that I get another 50 years out of her. I gave her a few small gifts before we parted ways on our return home from Florida and we waited until Monday to celebrate with the work ladies. Monday the 13th was the start of 2adays. Each morning we run/walk 2.5 miles, grab water and weights and hit the bleachers. We carry our weights and jog up the bleachers, twice - unless someone is lollygagging behind and we have to do it again. We then complete our 3 hour workout with leg lifts, step ups, squats, abs and light weight lifting. Geeezzz, it's miserable. Feels so good to be doing something though. I haven't been to the gym in forever. I joined them for 9 days of this and ws there to take team photos.
This year we have a freshman squad of 12 and a varsity squad of 13 + Venom the mascot.
I think the girls are beautiful!

After a week on the beach, I came home and had one week to get my house in order, the shopping done and food prepared for a party. Liz's only Houston shower would be held at my house...we've been waiting in anticipation for this very day. Finally, her belly is big enough and the due date is just around the corner. It's party time!

Liz and her husband Jim were our very first new friends in Houston. Over two years later, we've grown in our marriages and in our friendship with one another. I treasure this couple so much. I love that we share our life with them. I can't wait to meet baby Lily. She will be just as precious to me as her parents are.
