We began our day with a morning bus ride as we were headed for France. Around lunch time, we stopped in Pisa to stretch our legs, grab a bite to eat, check out the baptistry and stare in awe at the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Seriously cool.
Walking the streets, I spotted the hugest, most purple bougainvillea ever.
Yep, we're here.
Ahhhh, there it is! Wait, nope. That would be Rick acting like a goofball.
The Baptistry, The Duomo of Pisa, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Inside the Baptistry
A glance at the ceiling.
There's Daniel.
The Leaning Tower.
The standard pose...we laughed our faces off while doing this!
Rick getting in on the action.
No one had a clue what he was doing.
Okay, so my booty was supposed to be holding the tower up...but this doesn't quite do the trick.
Denise, Rick and Daniel thought this angle would be even more hilarious!
My sweet husband is such a looker.
Inside the Duomo of Pisa.
The ceiling was beautiful.
We ate lunch on the street and stared at the Leaning Tower the entire time. My pizza was delish and I had the coldest coke in Europe - score! Also a plus, getting to know the Paswaters even better. This couple is growing on us and has won over our hearts...we will miss them when we have to go home. This was our last moment in Italia. I had to act quick to buy my zip up that I'd been eyeing for days. Following lunch in Pisa - more bus time, but this time in the rain.
Leaving Italy...is it just us, or does the back of that bus say "handsome tourists fart". HA!
There were fields and fields of sunflowers. I didn't get any super great shots - maybe next year. Still, driving by these had to make us smile!
Roadside beauty.
The first and only bad weather we encountered was while on the bus. I spent a lot of time reading or napping!
Bus friends...Katie and Colleen
The ever dramatic Rachel.
After quite a long bus ride, we arrived in Nice, France. We walked along the ocean, had some free time to shop and then met up for dinner.
Wow!
Not so comfy to lie on but pretty nonetheless.
We're loving our vacation!
In Europe, owners don't leash their dogs very often. This little guy was just walking down the street like it was no big deal...my Honey would have crossed the major road to our right and been in the ocean before I could have stopped her.
We saw tons of statues in Italy, but none like this. It was good to finally see a woman with meat on her bones!
Free time photos...we shopped for little while before walking around to take in the sights. I found a dragonfly necklace in Nice and I LOVE it!
Ahhh, shutters and flowers make me happy.
Denver peeps: Tristan, Jakeob, Rick, Colleen, Katie, Steven, Mike & Denise.
Set up for the Ironman. No thanks, I'd die.
A candy shop!
Some Paswaters lovin'...love these two!
Walking to dinner...we saw some gorgeousness.
This guy keeps getting in my shots!
My FAVORITE picture from Nice.
Night-time in Nice. Dinner was absolutely wonderful. We had the real deal: French Ratatouille! and schnitzel! Soooo yummy. Great with German beer too.
Tomorrow we head to Monaco and Avignon.
