February 24th...Parker and I went on date to the Magik Theatre and saw If You Take a Mouse To School. He did really well for his age; I can't wait to take him back when he's older and has a better attention span.

February 24th...BIG BOY truck! Parker's early birthday present from us since he loves the neighbor girls' little red cars so much. I hope we get LOTS of use out of this thing.

Parker {Ten Months}

Sweet Silly Parker ,
The rate at which you're growing has caused me to have to keep a sheet of paper on the kitchen counter so I can jot down your new tricks as I see them happen. I'm afraid to miss something! I know it's silly of Mama, but I hope that by capturing your little life in photos and making notes of all the simple things you do, you'll know a portion of how much love I have for you. The weather has been fantastic. Thank goodness for a mild winter {or none at all} and we spend a lot of time outside in the afternoons. As you get bigger, I know you'll be begging me to go outside all day! You love to ride in your new big boy truck and eat snacks out of the cup holders in the back.  I like that this keeps you from crawling up and down the sidewalk and getting into the street. You definitely like to be down like all the other kiddos. Once you are walking, I promise I'll let you run wild with everyone else.You are growing so so big and I see more and more little boy and less of my baby in you each day. I'm not sure how time continues to pass so quickly!

Eating - You eat wonderfully, when you feel like it. I realize that you have a few favorite foods that you prefer over others and try to make sure that I have those in stock, along with a healthy variety of foods. You're really particular about meat and don't love to eat it by itself { I have to hide it in foods like applesauce and yogurt }. You still drink milk and water throughout the day. I'm gearing up to take the bottle away pretty soon - don't know how you'll like that.

Sleeping - You area a beautiful sleeper! You still take that great 2 hour morning nap when we're home and then sometimes sleep an hour or so in the afternoon. I don't push the length of the afternoon nap. When you wake, we go outside to play until Daddy gets home.

Measurements - You weigh 22 pounds.

Things You Do -
  • crawl around the house looking for me and find me by my voice when I call out to you
  • know when you're thirsty and search for your bottle or sippy cup
  • feed dogs whatever it is that you're eating. you get in trouble for this at dinner time
  • play with tupperware throughout the day. i just leave it out because i know you're going to go back to it.
  • put things in baskets and take them out.
  • stacking objects {they don't necessarily have to fit on top of one another}
  • you started walking along furniture and can now transfer from one piece to another without having to sit down
  • say Da-da! this melts your Daddy's heart!
  • drive EVERYTHING, no matter the object. your sound effects are getting better.
  • wave hi and bye-bye
  • drive your tractor around, with one knee up

This Happened-
  • you fell off the couch for the first time
  • you ate dog food from Honey's bowl
  • you got your head stuck in a stool at Emma & Ellie's house
  • you found the back porch and crawled out there all on your own
  • you got your first fever! 100.9
  • you had your first surgery - your ear tag was removed.

  • music
february12 -_027 Mama Loves -
  • when you crawl into my lap and drink your morning bottles while we snuggle and watch tv. these moments are more and more rare so i love when you initiate them.

Ear Tag {Surgery}.

 Parker was born with an ear tag. It doesn't hurt him; he has no idea it's even there. Honestly, when I first saw it I was bothered by it and asked the hospital pedi to remove it. He refused and advised that I wait. Ugh. Great. The pedi in Cypress recommended that we wait until six months. The pedi here in SA referred me to an ENT. The ENT checked Parker out and we booked him for surgery. Wait, surgery?! As in...anesthesia? It seems that's the most effective way to safely cut things off a baby. I have wrestled with the idea of leaving his ear tag alone. It doesn't bother me nearly as much as the thought of putting my baby under. But I know I'll always have concerns so we are saying prayers and going ahead with it!

Before photo.

Surgery day: Wow, what an early morning. 4:30am alarm! I pumped, Dan and I got dressed, fixed coffee, took care of dogs and then woke our man up and hopped in the car. I was nervous to wake him without offering a bottle but he did surprisingly well and was even in a good mood on our 30 minute drive to the hospital. We checked in and waited. They took us back, asked a ton of questions, took vitals and we waited FOREVER. It's really hard to keep a baby happy on a hospital bed. Thankfully we were allowed to walk around just a little and that seemed to help pass the time. The first baby went back within 20 minutes a nurse was coming for Parker. He willingly let her take him from me and we were sent to the waiting room. I whispered a prayer {though I felt super confident all would be fine} and before we knew it, his doctor was telling me all about the procedure. We had to tough out a few more minutes while they brought Parker out of his sleep and then they led us back to him. He did fuss once we sat. After making sure he wasn't going to get sick, I was allowed to feed him applesauce and give him a bottle {only because it was breast milk - yay me!}. Parker handled the entire procedure so well and his daddy and I are super proud. Once we got home, the three of us crashed for a few hours and then spent the day in our jammies. I'm super thankful for how easy this was and can't wait to see his ear all healed.

Larkin Love.

february12 -_052
These three are seriously some of my favorite people on the planet. I'm so thankful that God blesses us with friends that feel more like family. Life wouldn't be complete without the Larkins. We are so excited to soon meet their new baby girl, but before she arrived I wanted to make sure I documented their life as it is now. Lily is the JOY of our hearts {not to mention drop dead gorgeous at TWO}. She will be a helpful, bossy BIG sister and will love her baby "Annie" as soon as she lays eyes on her. Oh, I am so excited to get to witness the moment they become FOUR. Jim and Liz, it is a privilege to get to photograph your family all the time. Thank you for letting me be a part of your most precious memories.

Liz, no one can be what you are to me. I have no doubt that you will be an amazing Mama to two beautiful little girls.Thank you for letting me love them like they're mine. I can't wait to meet my baby Rose.
