Parker and I visited his school today to meet his teachers and hang out with a few of his classmates. It was fun to get to spend some time with him AT school. We headed home and baked a few cookies while we waited for Daddy so that we could load up for a fun weekend ahead in Van Vleck...looking forward to seeing our cousin Tate, Aunt Hayley, Papa and Grana.
I was thinking we were ready for more activities throughout the week so I booked a free intro session at The Little Gym. Parker had fun and I loved that he was safe to run around (and fall) without getting hurt. However, after more thought, I'm not sure we're ready to be committed to an event/activity sometimes four days a week. For now, we're gonna stick with MOPS every other week or so and school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It'll be more than enough, I'm sure. In the mean time, my little gymnast is a cutie. Oh, and after nap time the neighbors had a landscaping crew working on their yard. Mr. Nosy stood in a chair and peeked out the window as they hauled rock into the back yard. He loved every bit of watching the "maaan".
Today was another lazy day. We're soaking up the very end of summer before Parker starts going to school TWICE a week. We headed to the playground and worked on sliding...he still won't go without me, but I don't think it'll take long before he's brave enough to try everything on his own.
Our favorite little across the street friend turned two today. Parker loves Ellie so much that he decided he wanted to help bake her a PINK cake. We had a good time mixing ingredients and licking spoons together. I enjoy that he wants to be near me in the kitchen and often helps pour or stir. Happy birthday Ellie girl...can't believe how big you already are! We love you.
Our Parker is the funniest, silliest man and we love it! He makes us laugh so hard all the time. On the way home from church, he thought of every trick in the book to crack me up. This evening, Daniel let me slip away to Target by myself. I took full advantage and walked around for TWO HOURS with no little man in the front of the buggy. It was strange, but also kind of like a mini vacation. Very nice! Thanks Daniel for taking over playtime.
I spent most of the day cleaning house because it so needed it! Parker and Daniel broke out the tools to work on my carper cleaner. I just melt at the sight of Parker doing just what Daddy does. Then I cleaned up myself and stole away for a dinner date with Daniel and some friends. We celebrated Dolores' 25th birthday with dinner, drinks and laughs. ;)After a few hours of sitting and talking, I returned home and quietly snuck into Parker's room to whisper goodnight. I love nothing more than the sight of my sleeping baby. So thankful.
Today was the last week day that Aquatica would be open. It seems silly to me since it's hot all the way through October here in Texas, but I understand the need to scale back on staff once everyone returns to school. Still, it'd be cool it they'd keep it open a little longer for us stay at home mamas. We joined the Kuchka girls for some fun in the sun and wrapped up "summer" together! Can't wait to come back next year and see how much more Parker loves the water.
